A family friend of murder accused  Christopher Panayiotou who calls himself  “Oom Danie” has made a “comic strip” of court proceedings so far.

The comic strip, consisting of several pages, was doing its round in the gallery this morning where Panayiotou is expected to continue his bid for bail.

Panayiotou is back in court today where he is making a third attempt at bail, this time based on new facts, after the matter was finally transferred to the Port Elizabeth High Court and trial was set for October 3 to December 2 this year. He is accused of plotting the murder of his wife Jayde.

Family members and supporters of both Christopher Panayiotou and Jayde arrived ahead of proceedings this morning.

The court heard argument from Panayiotou's counsel on Tuesday.  The admissibility of the testimony of the states prime witness, underhanded tactics from the police and the prosecution misleading the court were only some of the accusations made by Panayiotou's legal team.

Today,  state advocate Marius Stander requested for the matter to stand down until tomorrow owing to the fact that certain evidence was not placed before court by the defence on Tuesday. Proceedings were then remanded until 10am tomorrow by Magistrate Abigail Beeton.

Jayde was killed on April 21, 2015 after she was abducted from outside her Kabega Park home in Port Elizabeth. Her body was found near Uitenhage the next day.
