Your vote needed to keep this songstress in ‘The Voice SA’

SHE has impressed the judges with her powerful voice, but this week Thembeka Mnguni, 33, the only Eastern Cape contestant on the M-Net reality TV show The Voice SA, needs her fans to vote to ensure she wins the show. Mnguni, who is on Karen Zoid’s team, stands to win a sought-after contract from Universal Music and more than R800 000 in prizes during this week’s live finale at Johannesburg’s Sasani Studios. She said she needed all the support she could get to win. She wanted to win for her son Sabelo, 5, who is autistic. “I am doing this for my little guy’s life to be easy. “I want to be able to drive him to school and to afford his expensive education. “He is such a blessing in my life,” Mnguni said. She was not worried about the voting. “I know my coach Karen Zoid has been saving me, but I also know that I have put in 110%.

“I have performed to the best of my ability. “If South Africa saves me I will be very grateful. “Since my first time on that stage I have not stopped crying because I am grateful for this amazing opportunity,” she said. Mnguni was excited that she had made it to the top eight. She said even though she had received funny messages from strange men asking to marry her, she has also received heart-warming messages from parents of children with special needs. Things are looking bright for Mnguni, whom Zoid has invited to be on her show. Zoid said: “I will look out for you and walk this road with you. “I will make sure you have a good future and a good life for you and your son.” To vote for Mnguni, SMS 23 to 33692 or download the voice SA app (mnet.tv/The Voice) or vote on we-chat using ID: MNET TV. Voting lines close on Thursday at 10pm.
