DA welcomes Cope defector and metro official as members

The Democratic Alliance (DA) in Nelson Mandela Bay (NMB) welcomed two new members – one a former Congress of the People (Cope) councillor‚ the other a safety and security expert for the metro - to its ranks on Monday  (18/04/2016).

The party’s mayoral candidate Athol Trollip described Cope’s Rayno Kayser as being “among the best councillors in NMB and he has decided to make the DA his political home so that he can best serve the people…under a DA government”.

Trollip said John Best‚ “who was responsible for the NMBM's Joint Operations Centre …will be instrumental to our objective of establishing a metro police force”.

“They are now both aspirant candidates for the DA in the upcoming local government election‚” Trollip added.

“They join a diverse and dynamic DA team that will govern Nelson Mandela Bay after the 2016 local government elections.”
