Still no sign of activist missing in Mthatha

VUSI Mahlangu, the Outsourcing Must Fall activist who was allegedly abducted in Mthatha on Tuesday, is still missing.

Mahlangu was in Mthatha to support striking workers at the Walter Sisulu University when he disappeared on his way to a meeting at the university’s Nelson Mandela Drive campus.

The last communication he had with his friends was through text messages, in which he told them he was in a dark room and was bleeding.

Mthatha police spokesman LieutenantColonel Mzukisi Fatyela said the police were still investigating the matter.

Outsourcing Must Fall spokesman Mametlwe Sebei said Mahlangu’s disappearance was an attempt “to intimidate us”.

He said there were “encouraging” developments, but declined to give further details.
