About 250 orphaned children living in Alicedale, outside Grahamstown, got their Christmas presents early this year when a police helicopter landed at the building and dropped off Steers burgers.

The burgers and Christmas presents were donated by Baywest and Walker Drive Steers together with the Famous Brands Group.

Port Elizabeth police airlifted the 250 Steers burgers from Baywest Mall to the Care Alicedale Orphanage this afternoon.

Currently, police are at the orphanage handing out the burgers and chatting to the children.

Most of the orphans have never seen a helicopter up close or even a Steers burger.

This was part of a Festive Season outreach programme arranged by Steers, Mount Road Police Station and the Port Elizabeth Airwing.
