George SAPS seeks information on missing persons

Warrant Officer J D Williams of the George South African Police service (SAPS) is urgently seeking information regarding three people who were reported missing recently.

Anyone who may have any information regarding the missing persons is requested to call the investigating officer at the George SAPS, Warrant Officer JD Williams at 044 803 4775, 083 3531 041 or Crime Stop at 08600 10111.

1. Piet Pienaar

Bochards resident, Piet Pienaar, 54- years-old, was last seen on 12 October 2015 whilst on his way home from the George hospital after he went there for a check-up.

Information suggests that he left the hospital at approximately 16:35 the same day and walked in the direction of the George CBD via CJ Langenhoven road.

He never reached his destination in Bellair Street, Bochards.

He was dressed in a red cap, light brown jersey and blue jeans with white tekkies.


2. Jeremy Jafta 

On 21 October 2015 the mother of 31-year-old Jeremy Jafta from Swarthout Street, Touwsranten, Hoekwil, George reported him missing to police.

At the time he was already missing for approximately 10 weeks after he did not return home from work.

Attempts to trace him ever since has been unsuccessful.

He was last seen wearing a blue overall.

He is 1.7metres tall and slim, weighing approximately 70kg and had black hair with a goatee (“bok-Beard”).


 3. Riaan van der Hoeven

George SAPS is also looking for 38-year-old Riaan van der Hoeven, originally from Huguenot in the Paarl who was last seen in Buxton Close, Wilderness near George.

Reports reveal that he last spoke to his father on 27 October 2015 when he reported that he was robbed of his cellphone and banking cards.

The missing man drives a white Toyota Tazz, 2003 model with registration number CJ 22477.
