Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality under pressure to address equity issues

AS the government pushes for transformation in the workplace, it was revealed yesterday that the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality is falling drastically short when it comes to women in top and senior management positions.
The metro has also been slated by the Department of Labour for not doing enough to hire people with disabilities.
According to the city’s director of skills development and employment equity, Kholiswa Makalima, the city was rapped over the knuckles for not having proper strategies in place to deal with the over-representation of specific groupings in some of the posts.
