State introduces another affidavit

The state has handed in another affidavit in the bail application of murder accused Christopher Panayiotou.

This morning Panayiotou's defence team requested the matter to stand down in order for them to discuss the latest affidavit with their client. Closing arguments are expected to be made by the state and defence today. The court has not yet been informed what is contained in the latest affidavit.

Panayiotou 28, of Kabega Park, is accused of masterminding the murder of his pretty school teacher wife, Jayde, 29, late last month.

Magistrate Abigaile Beeton granted the adjournment but also reprimanded photographers for using their flashes when Panayiotou entered the courtroom. She also warned broadcast media not to take visuals of court staff and employees.

Panayioutou entered the packed court room this morning, dressed all in black again.

The matter is adjourned to 2pm.
