CDC boosts economy

Thousands of jobs created, skills upgrades facilitated in major projects

ALMOST 15 000 jobs were created at the Coega Industrial Development Zone (IDZ) over the past financial year, while close to 9 000 people received skills training, giving Nelson Mandela Bay’s economy a much-needed boost.

In the latter part of last year and early this year, six major projects under construction saw more than R4-billion pumped into the IDZ.

And there was more to come, Coega Development Corporation (CDC) head of marketing and communications Dr Ayanda Vilakazi said.
