Former COPE leader Sam Kwelita dies

Former Congress of the People (COPE) provincial leader Sam Kwelita has died.
He succumbed to death at 05:30 this morning at the East London Private Hospital, after a long illness.
Family spokesman Joe Kwelita said: “I got a call from the hospital at 05:30 informing me of his departure. As the family we will start discussing funeral arrangements, we should know by tomorrow more details about the funeral.”
The former Eastern Cape MEC for roads and public works and social development, was admitted to the East London Private Hospital three months ago. – Siphe Macanda/DispatchLive
