Three suspects, aged between 23 and 30, were arrested in connection with  the murder of  Addo farmer Allan Clarke (60) from the farm Sundowner in the early hours of this morning (20/04/15).

According to police a private security company contacted the Kabega Park SAPS about a “suspicious- looking” silver Mazda bakkie parked near a service station in the Greenbushes area at about 01:00 this morning. Police responded and found the vehicle still on the premises and started to question the three occupants about the ownership of the vehicle.

The members established that the bakkie belonged to Clarke.  A police member also noticed blood stains on the back of a bakkie and after further questioning of the suspects one of them admitted to their involvement in an attack on the elderly farmer.

The police and the suspects proceeded to the crime scene, where the suspects indicated the place where the body of the farmer was left.  Investigators are still collecting evidence at the crime scenes.

The three suspects were arrested and charged with murder. They will appear in the Addo Magistrate Court soon.

The motive for the murder and the exact circumstance surrounding the case is not clear at this stage and will form part of the investigation.

This article dated 20 April reports the arrest of three men in connection with the brutal murder of Addo farmer Allan Clarke.
The Herald Live report of the murder is dated a day later, 21 April.
Looking on the internet for clarification and further information, I found several reports of the murder in Afrikaans media, but nothing else in English. Is this simply not newsworthy?
