Grey tops sporting school list

Thirteen Eastern Cape schools feature on survey of best all-rounders

THE Eastern Cape has once again proven it is not lacking in sporting prowess by coming out tops in an online survey of the best sporting schools in South Africa Grey High School took the top spot out of 65 schools with 12 other Eastern Cape schools on the list of “top all-round sporting boys schools” by SA School Sport magazine.

Magazine editor Rogan Summerton said the list was a result of combining the rankings for rugby, cricket, hockey and water polo over the past four years.

He said: “Schools that scored high were invariably those that have competed at a consistently high level in all the codes for an extended period.”

This is the first year the list has been brought out.

Summerton said the list had been drawn up in response to requests from parents, coaches and presidents of old boys unions.
