WHAT was meant to be the start of a trendy pub with live music and entertainment in Jeffreys Bay has ended in civil litigation between a former SABC radio training manager and a J-Bay restaurateur.
Papers have been filed with the Humansdorp Magistrate’s Court showing that Capital Radio co-founder Anthony Duke is suing Jayne Davies, owner of deli-restaurant InFood, for more than R600 000.
This arises from a business venture that went sour in 2011.
Duke is a former manager of 5FM and Good Hope FM.
The papers state that Steve Walsh, a longtime friend of Duke’s, had the initial plan of partnering with Davies to open a new restaurant in Jeffreys Bay in May 2011.
A property at 10 Da Gama Road had been purchased and Davies said she had invested R300 000 towards starting the new eatery.
