Roland still standing

Municipal spokesperson Roland Williams, who bravely gulped down several glasses of discoloured tap water yesterday to prove it was safe, feels fine today (20/02/15).

“I actually feel better today than I did yesterday,” he said this morning.

When asked if he felt ill, he trilled: "No, not at all."

Williams backed up his words with action yesterday when he visited disgruntled Port Elizabeth residents who had voiced their disgust on social media.

Following reaction to The Herald’s front-page story on Nelson Mandela Bay’s water crisis yesterday, Williams took to and promised to be the guinea pig for anyone worried about the safety of their tap water.

Williams said he watched a cricket match early this morning before attending two interviews. When The Herald spoke to Williams he was behind his desk at his office.
