Roland still standing

Municipal spokesperson Roland Williams, who bravely gulped down several glasses of discoloured tap water yesterday to prove it was safe, feels fine today (20/02/15).

“I actually feel better today than I did yesterday,” he said this morning.

When asked if he felt ill, he trilled: “No, not at all.”

Williams backed up his words with action yesterday when he visited disgruntled Port Elizabeth residents who had voiced their disgust on social media.

Following reaction to The Herald’s front-page story on Nelson Mandela Bay’s water crisis yesterday, Williams took to The Herald’s Facebook page and promised to be the guinea pig for anyone worried about the safety of their tap water.

Williams said he watched a cricket match early this morning before attending two interviews. When The Herald spoke to Williams he was behind his desk at his office.

A man who does what he says he will do! He talks the talk and then walks the walk! A rare ting in Port Elizabeth politics!

Great PR stunt Roland – just the quality of BS Port Elizabeth has come to expect from you. You get a gold star on your forehead and you move to the front of the class. Now – Show us how brave you are and if PR is more important that the health of the community!!! Get your WIFE AND CHILDREN to drink this in front of the camera’s. Try to do this with a smile on your face and a chuckle in your throat and not understand the concerns of the people who pay your salary. This is one instance when HEALTH IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN POLITICS.

Hmmm. Have to wonder what he was sitting on behind his desk. A bedpan or potty maybe ?
