A GELVANDALE dog, shot while trying in vain to protect his owner, could be going home today – sporting a bullet hole through the snout.

Meide, an 18-month-old Alsatian mix, jumped in to defend his owner, Ryan Carolus, 27, when he was gunned down in a gang-related incident on Wednesday.

Carolus, who is believed to have been part of a gang, was riding his bicycle home when rival gang members pulled up in a white Corsa bakkie and opened fire.

Ryan dropped his bicycle and ran home, but two assailants gave chase and continued firing.

U live by the gun, u die by the gun, when my sister whatsapped me about Ryan’s shooting, sorry I laughed. If people who know him or his brother who is kissing the dog , I think literally they all actually relieved. Hope Andre that Ryan’s death is something for you to open your eyes, u’ve been beaten by people u steal from, but if this doesn’t then u really need some other help.
