Miss SA shines at old school

Homegrown beauty honours promise to visit Bay alma mater

The pupils of Lorraine Primary School in Port Elizabeth could not contain their excitement when Miss South Africa Ziphozakhe Zokufa paid them a surprise visit yesterday.

Zokufa, 23, who is living in Johannesburg for the duration of her reign, kept to the promise she had made earlier to visit her alma mater the first chance she got and was met with hugs and a walk down Memory Lane.

Her Grade 3 teacher, Barbara Bennett, 62, remembered a very artistic little girl, who was beautiful inside and out, while her Grade 4 teacher, Margriet Sampson, 60, remembered how she was dwarfed by the French horn she so diligently practiced and mastered.
