Stolen cars found at cop’s home

Three stolen vehicles were found at the home of a police officer in Eldorado Park, Gauteng police said on Tuesday.

The vehicles, a Volkswagen Golf 6 and two Volkswagen Polos, were discovered around 9am, Lt-Col Katlego Mogale said.

The officer was not home at the time. He would face charges of possession of suspected stolen property upon his arrest, Mogale said.

The provincial flying squad team had followed a signal which led them to the officer’s home in Alley Street, Eldorado Park.

“It is alleged that when the members knocked and screamed for the gate to be opened, no one answered. They proceeded to take the gate off the rail and gained entrance.”

Mogale said the Golf 6 had been chopped up. It was reported hijacked in Dawn Park in the East Rand last month.

The other two Polos had their chassis numbers tampered with, Mogale said.

It seems sometimes in this country that many of the cops are the crooks! Before any cross cop attacks me I read every day about corrupt cops and about cops who take their gun home and shoot their wife then shoot themselves! One cop shot his wife in the police station in Gauteng! One young policeman in Port Elizabeth stole the Police Station sign last year.Don’t tell me that these events are not true! Something is badly wrong with our Policemen in South Africa! The wrong people are being recruited! There has been a gang in Port Elizabeth who drive around in a silver Polo who have been kicking in doors in Walmer,Greenshields Park, Kamma Park and Lorraine for years. They kick in the door grab what they can like big screen T.V.s,laptops and are away before any alarm companies have even had time to despatch a vehicle! I know because I had my door kicked in.The Police go through the motions with little energy or motivation and have utterly failed to find the culprits. It seems that Atlas Alarms catch more people in P.E. (Apologies to those few cops who are trying to do their job!)
