A Port Elizabeth mother’s frustration with her children’s toothpaste squeezing technique has been turned into a business venture.
Amelia Boggenpoel said for years her children’s bad habit of squeezing toothpaste from the top of the tube and leaving the cap off had left her frustrated.
Irritated by the waste and nuisance in her home, she was inspired to design her own toothpaste dispenser – a design that has secured her R200 000 from the Eastern Cape Development Corporation to assist in manufacturing the dispenser.
The dispenser, which is mounted on the wall, has a lever which presses down on the tube, squeezing paste out from the bottom first.
The tube hangs cap-down so that no toothpaste is wasted.
