Frightened witness remains in court to avoid meeting her aunt

The frightened niece of Portia “Pankie” Sizani, who she testified against yesterday, chose to remain in the Port Elizabeth Commercial Crimes Court long after proceedings were adjourned – to avoid coming face to face with her aunt.

The soft-spoken Amanda Nolutshungu, 36, remained in her seat while Sizani and her friends left the building.

When told by prosecutor Ronelle Brink that she was free to leave the courtroom, Nolutshungu said she would rather wait inside for her lift.

Nolutshungu made no eyecontact with Sizani, who was seated in the dock. Instead, she faced magistrate Mputumi Mpofu throughout the proceedings.

She had difficulty testifying and was repeatedly asked by Mpofu to speak up.

These are just the cases that we know about but they are the tip of the iceberg! Most of the looting by government officials we know nothing! What can you expect when the man at the top sets such a terrible example? The fish rots from the head!
