R15 000 drugs haul buried in yard

Port Elizabeth police confiscated about R15 000 worth of drugs during a raid at a house in Kensington yesterday.

Police spokesman Warrant Officer Alwin Labans said the raid, which was prompted by information supplied to police, was conducted at a home in Oliver Street at about 4.30pm.

He said the drugs, with a collective value estimated at R15 000, included mandrax tablets, dagga and tik.

The drugs had been hidden in the ground in the backyard of the house and investigators had dug seven holes to recover the drugs.

Police are investigating.
