Petrol set to drop about R1.25 a litre

THE price of 93-octane petrol will drop R1.27 a litre and 95-octane by R1.23/litre on Wednesday‚ the Central Energy Fund announced yesterday (02/01/14).

This will take the coastal retail price of 93 octane to R10.78/litre and 95 octane to R10.83/litre.

The government regulates the retail price of petrol‚ but sets the wholesale price of diesel and allows service stations to compete on how much they retail the fuel for.

The retail price of 0.05% sulphur diesel falls by R1.04/litre and 0.005% sulphur by R1.05/litre. – BDlive
