Five people were killed and four children seriously injured in a head on collision between a double cab bakkie and a car on the R61 between Queenstown and Tarkastad last night.
The accident happened shortly before 9pm taking emergency workers more than 2 hours to free the trapped children and clear the wreckage from the road.
The cause of the accident is still unknown.
