Jeffreys Bay policewoman and husband shot dead

Police in Jeffreys Bay are mourning the death of one of their colleagues, who was fatally wounded this morning (26/11/15) at about 06:40 in Strelitzia Street, Jeffreys Bay.  The body of her husband was also found on the scene.

It is alleged that the 36-year-old female constable was off-duty when she was involved in a heated argument with her security guard husband.   Shots were heard and police were summoned to the scene.

On arrival police found both victims with gunshot wounds and both were declared dead on the scene. Jeffreys Bay Police are investigating an inquest docket and a case of murder.

The names of the deceased will be released after their next-of-kin were informed of their death.

The Cluster Commander of Humansdorp, Brigadier Neil Jantjies said: “We are still in shock and very sad about the loss of own of our members under very tragic circumstances.
