George students in cliff crash named

WHILE search efforts for the missing George student, who was in a vehicle with two friends when it plummeted off a cliff near Herolds Bay on the Garden Route at the weekend continued yesterday, the names of the three young men were released by police. Southern Cape police spokesman Captain Malcolm Pojie said the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University George campus students Marnic Els, 21, Luandro Jansen, 22, and Werner Finger, 20, were in the vehicle that plunged to the bottom of a 100m cliff at Voëlklip near Herolds Bay on Saturday.

The bodies of Els and Jansen were found strapped inside the vehicle on Monday. Finger is believed to have been flung from the vehicle when the car crashed and his body may have been washed out to sea.
