TRAFFIC jams on the N2 dual carriageway in Nelson Mandela Bay have motorists hot under the collar, with delays causing constant frustration – and the problem will continue for quite some time.

The R200-million construction project, managed by the South African National Roads Agency Ltd (Sanral), is only scheduled to be completed towards the end of next year.

But, Sanral said, some of the roadworks near the Stanford Road off-ramp would be completed in the next three weeks.

Motorists have vented their anger on social media about the bumper-to-bumper traffic, especially during peak time.

One frustrated motorist, Julian de Grauw, 36, of Bridgemead, said his daily commute since the roadworks started was just more than an hour. -Lee-Anne Butler
