Eastern Cape man allegedly strangled by his sister and her two sons

A large contingent of police rescuers from four Eastern Cape towns have arrived in Lusikisiki to abseil down a 200m to 300m cliff to search for the body of a 47-year-old man who was allegedly strangled to death by his sister and her two sons.

The three suspects - a 43-year-old woman and her sons (aged 19 and 16) - were arrested over the weekend and charged with murder after they reportedly confessed to plotting to kill the victim.

The victim‚ who spent most of his life in Gauteng‚ recently returned to his late parents’ homestead and allegedly tried to kick his younger sister out‚ claiming that culturally he was the legitimate head of the house.

When she refused‚ he took the matter to the tribal court which ruled in his favour.

According to the local headman‚ the man's sister and her two sons plotted to kill him‚ and early this month they allegedly tied his hands and strangled him until he died and dumped him in Magwa Falls on the Wild Coast in Lusikisiki.  -RDM News Wire
