Radio presenter out on bail

A well-known Kingfisher FM presenter who was on a charge of sexual assault, was granted bail of R2000 in the Port Elizabeth magistrate's court today.

He was ordered not to make contact with the complainant or her family.

The man, who cannot be named or identified until he pleads in court, was arrested at the radio station’s offices yesterday for allegedly stalking a 22-year-old woman and repeatedly threatening over the phone to sexually assault her.

It is believed the woman met the suspect when he was promoting a charity event.

Kingfisher FM station general manager Alan Ahlfeldt told The Herald yesterday that the arrest had come as a big shock to everyone. -The Herald
