Local Port Elizabeth musician  Hugo 'Pat' Kleinhans took to Facebook today after his much-loved guitar was stolen, asking the public to help him find the instrument.

According to Kleinhans the guitar, which is valued about R15 000, was stolen from his car in Newton Park.  He  was due to play a gig in East London tonight.

Kleinhans added that the Fender Jim Root, which he believes to be the only one of its kind in Port Elizabeth, has some unique markings: "It's a Fender Jim Root signature model with many areas where the paint is down to the bare wood. It has a custom toggle switch installed on the cutaway. It's the only one of its kind in PE," he wrote on social media.

Kleinhans who is known for performing at popular hangouts such as Barney's Tavern and Bridge Street Brewery, was planning on moving to Dubai soon where is it to teach music.

He has pleaded with the public to contact him on 082-466-5621 with any details or information.
