Metro pulls out of festival sponsorship

THE Nelson Mandela Bay cultural festival has been dealt a blow after it emerged yesterday that the municipality, one of its biggest sponsors, has pulled out of this weekend’s music spectacle.
Uncertainty grew yesterday over whether the event, set to bring US R&B star Kenny Lattimore and other prominent South African acts to Port Elizabeth, will indeed take place as planned.
However, the organisers were adamant the show would go on and claimed tickets were selling “like hot cakes”. -Rochelle de Kock and Yoliswa Sobuwa
