VIDEO: Baakens River comes down in flood

NELSON Mandela Bay residents are mopping up after heavy rains pounded the metro and flooded lowlying areas, causing more than 1 000 people to be evacuated from their homes.
Some of city’s storage dams were overflowing and rainfall of up to 103mm was recorded around the Bay, with numerous flooded roads closed at the weekend.
The Baakens River came down in flood late on Saturday and The Herald captured footage on the scene. Watch the video here and of images from around Nelson Mandela Bay.
