Jordaan ready to tackle gangsterism

NELSON Mandela Bay mayor Danny Jordaan has undertaken to deal with gangsterism in the metro.

He said there was a need to bring constructive programmes to the northern areas to occupy young people, ultimately preventing them from getting involved within partaking in drugs and gangsterism.

Jordaan, accompanied by other municipal officials and the ANC regional task team, was addressing residents at an anti-crime meeting in Schauderville’s Glendining Street Flats.

The northern areas has been plagued by gang violence in which innocent bystanders, including children, have been caught in the crossfire.
