Jordaan postpones announcement of mayoral committee

Mayor Danny Jordaan of the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality did not announce his new mayoral committee today, saying he first wanted to establish the extent of the challenges in the institution before deciding on the team that will be best suited to address the problems.
This means committee meetings will be postponed until a new mayoral team is chosen.
In this morning's council meeting, Jordaan postponed the adoption of the 2015-16 budget and IDP for further refinement.
He said the budget for consultants and salaries had to be reduced.
