Councillors and business leaders hope “Mr Fix-it” can make a difference

SOCCER boss Danny Jordaan’s appointment as Nelson Mandela Bay mayor will not necessarily bag the ANC the elusive coloured vote it desperately needs to keep it in power after next year’s municipal election.

ANC secretary-general Gwede Mantashe admitted this yesterday, just minutes after announcing Jordaan would take over the municipality’s top job.

Uitenhage businessman Bicks Ndoni and ANC MP Litho Suka were appointed deputy mayor and chief whip respectively.
