Police search for missing three-year-old

Police have launched a search for a three-year-old girl who went missing in Cookhouse near Somerset East at the weekend.

According to police, Leanne “Nomachina” Adams went missing on Saturday and was last seen close to her home in Mandela Street in Cookhouse.

Currently, police are still searching the area together with the community. Search and rescue dogs have also been called to the area and have combed the vicinity she was last seen.

Police spokesman Captain Stefanie Smith said that Adams was last seen on Saturday when she left her home  to play with a neighbour’s child.

“At about 5pm  her grandfather noticed that she is not yet back and decided to go looking for her at the neighbour’s house, but she was not there.  The neighbour also could not tell him where she was,” she said.

“At the time of her disappearance Adams was wearing pink tracksuit pants with green stripes and a blue jacket with pink cap, with white shoes.”

“We have been to her known friends’ houses and she is not there,” Smith added. “Operations are still underway in an attempt to locate her.”
