IT boss fights for life after attack

A PORT Elizabeth businessman and father is fighting for his life in hospital after being hijacked in a horror attack, stabbed multiple times and left for dead in a Newton Park car park.

The dramatic hijacking at 8.30pm on Tuesday saw Jacob Abraham, 49, of Lorraine, who owns an IT and automation company, stabbed 10 times in the chest and neck in the car park of the Land Bank building in Newton Street where he works.

Details are still sketchy but police confirmed that Abraham’s Volkswagen Amarok was hijacked while he was leaving the building after working late.

Police said Abraham was drifting in and out of consciousness and struggling to breathe when they arrived.

He had been taken to Greenacres Hospital by 10pm, where he underwent emergency surgery. There were pools of blood in the car park and blood was smeared along the walls of the building as he tried to go inside to call for help.
