MORE than 200 guests attended this year’s One Blood Music Festival at the Grand Hotel in Port Elizabeth’s Central at the weekend.

The music festival, now in its sixth year, featured artists from Nelson Mandela Bay and also saw Jamaican-born international reggae star Iqulah perform.

Known as the “highest priest of reggae”, Iqulah played alongside SA Music Awardnominated Johannesburg hip-hop star Reason, Bay artists like Catalyst, Skank and the Roots, Static Flo and Cape Town jazzists the Azania Band.

Reason, who has just released his third album, Audio High Definition, said he was pleasantly surprised by how much talent Port Elizabeth had to offer.

“I have just released a single called Endurance, featuring the award-winning HHP and a woman poet called Nova. The track and album have been well received and are doing quite well,” he said.
