Power couple’ put talk to test

Bay pair live up to promises to beat off competition

They described themselves as enigmatic and energetic while boldly declaring that they knew each other better than any other couple could.

And, as it turned out, the Lorraine couple who are now one step closer to appearing on a reality TV show, were right.

Juanita De Andrade, 33, and Juran Banfield, 32, were yesterday crowned the winners of the Algoa FM Power Couple competition – which sees them a step nearer to taking part in an M-Net reality TV show of the same name.

The couple, he an engineer and she a horse-riding instructor, have been dating for three years. Following an online competition on Algoa FM, the couple were selected to compete against four other couples for a spot at M-Net’s Power Couple auditions in Cape Town on Valentine’s Day.
