Sister attacked at hospital

LIFE Mercantile Hospital in Korsten has increased its security an intruder entered the hospital on Friday and attacked an Ampath nursing sister in its third-floor laboratory.
The nursing sister, Nadia Scott, who is employed by Ampath, was cut with an unknown object while trying to retrieve her handbag from the intruder at about 7am on January 2.
It is believed that she received a minor injury during the incident.
The hospital's public relations officer, Tamara Ncanywa, yesterday said management declined to comment on the matter and referred all queries to the hospital's property manager, Edwin Cloete.
