Paterson '74 matrics reunite

IT promises to be a weekend of laughter and reminiscing as the Paterson High School class of 1974 reunites today to celebrate the 40th anniversary of their matriculating from the Schauderville alma mater.

Hugs and kisses will be the order of the day when the class of '74 descends on Port Elizabeth from Australia, Cape Town and Johannesburg – not only to celebrate the 40-year milestone, but also to raise money to fix the school.

The four-day reunion will have fun-filled activities, kicking off with a welcoming cocktail evening today, followed by a past pupils' tour of the school.

Tomorrow the class, their spouses and staff who were involved with the matriculants of 1974 will celebrate at a gala dinner in Newton Park.

To end off the reunion, the class has invited SA Football Association president Danny Jordaan as guest speaker at a golf day on Monday where past pupils, teachers and parents will raise funds to help revamp their alma mater. - Yonela Mgwali
