Methodist bishop leaving Bay

AFTER eight years in the city and six at the helm of the Methodist Church's Grahamstown District, Bishop Musi Losaba is leaving Nelson Mandela Bay and looking forward to strengthening the role of the church at his new post in Cape Town next month.

Losaba has to report to his new assignment at the Rosebank Methodist Church in Cape Town by December 20.

He will be replaced by Reverend Andile Mbete, who will be inducted as bishop on Sunday at the Nangoza Jebe Hall.

Losaba said his years in Port Elizabeth were among his most exciting because it was where he became a bishop.

"But there have been exciting opportunities. It has been a time of growth. You learn as you go with the responsibilities you are given and you are amazed by the support of the people in the city. - Thulani Gqirana
