Sandstorm hits Free State

Residents of Bloemfontein are being encouraged to stay indoors as a dramatic sandstorm sweeps through the area.

ER24 said on its Facebook page that it had received numerous reports of a massive dust storm over great parts of Bloemfontein in the Free State.

They have also received reports of very strong winds in the Kimberley area.

Warning about the conditions, the University of Free State urged its community to remain indoors if possible.
