Kirkwood erupts

HUNDREDS of violent service delivery protesters rampaged through Kirkwood in the Sundays River Valley early yesterday, destroying historic municipal buildings, a councillor’s house and millions of rands’ worth of municipal vehicles and equipment.
Business was brought to a complete halt, and pupils were evacuated from two schools.
Shops and municipal buildings were looted, with the thieves seen fighting over the loot.
