Frustrated gun gang raid restaurant

A RESTAURANT employee was hit in the face during an armed robbery by masked men at Fig Tree Park on the corner of William Moffett Expressway and Circular Drive in Port Elizabeth.
The robbery at Ocean Basket occurred shortly after 10am yesterday when five men – two with firearms – entered as employees were preparing to open.
Manageress Alexa Minne was in the restaurant at the time with another manager, four waiters and a pest control man.
"We are all very shaken up but grateful that no one was shot during the robbery," she said.
"Two men entered the shop and asked for money. One man held the other manager at gunpoint while the other one chased the staff inside the shop forcing them to lie on the ground. - Gareth Wilson
