ANGRY Chatty residents blocked Old Uitenhage Road yesterday, saying they are fed up with irregularities on the RDP housing list.

The protest started on Monday with residents using their bodies yesterday to prevent vehicles from using the road.

Community leader Bouga Rooiland said: "We are not fighting with anyone here but we want officials to come up with a solution to the housing problem."

He said they were told Bay municipal officials would address them in the morning. "But that has not happened."

The protest started at 4am with residents burning tyres but police had cleared the road by 11am. - Yoliswa Sobuwa and Hendrick Mphande
