J-Bay horror crash victims are named

FOUR of the five people who died in a horrific car accident outside Jeffreys Bay last week have been identified.

Elvis Plaatjies, 35, Mzukisi Siko, 37, Vina Saul, 40, and her daughter Sinentlantla Saul, 9, died on the scene after the Volkswagen Citi Golf they were travelling in collided head on with a Springbok Atlas bus on Friday night.

The bus was travelling from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth when the collision took place on the N2, between the two entrances into Jeffreys Bay.

All the deceased were from either Motherwell or Kwazakhele in Port Elizabeth.

While the identity of the fifth occupant is known, police spokesman Warrant Officer Basil Seekoei said his name would only be released once the man's family had formally identified him. – Riaan Marais
