Shack fire kills mom and two children

A PREGNANT woman and two of her three children died in a shack fire in KwaNobuhle at the weekend.

Nwabisa Mpuntya, 25, Othandwayo, 4, and Azole, 2, died on Saturday as neighbours looked on helplessly.

Mpuntya was seven months pregnant. Her eldest, Philasande, 5, spent the night with a relative.

Yesterday, relatives and neighbours were still battling to come to terms with their tragic deaths.

Police spokesman Warrant Officer Basil Seekoei said no crime was suspected.
