A RANGE of activities on offer in Nelson Mandela Bay this holiday should keep children busy – and their parents sane.

From tours and library talks to hikes and workshops, there is no shortage of entertainment over the next few weeks.

The Bay's libraries are hosting several activities, including storytime, beading, mosaics, and fridge magnet and makeyour-own T-shirt workshops.

The municipality has arranged a guided hike along the Settlers Park trail for all ages and fitness levels.

Those interested must meet in the parking lot ahead of the 9am start on Wednesday.

The Nelson Mandela Metropolitan Art Museum in Park Drive launches its creative holiday workshops today. It is hosting children workshops – at R30 a person – and family workshops for those parents who would like to be involved in the workshop (it costs R40 for a parent and one child and R50 for a parent and two children).

Those participating will be making collages. The four-hour workshops start at 9am.

More information is available from the museum.

For those interested in finding out more about the Bay's tourist attractions, Nelson Mandela Bay Tourism has a 5-in-1 NMB Pass which allows users access to five attractions of their choice from Bayworld, the South African Penguin Rehabilitation Centre (Samrec), Homeleigh Farm, the NMB Science and Technology Centre and the VW Autopavilion in Uitenhage. They can also choose paintballing, scuba diving and horse riding.

The pass – which costs R400 – is valid for three months, or as soon as the user has recorded five visits or activities.

  •  NMBT is giving away two NMB 5-in-1 passes to the value of R400. To stand a chance of winning, send an e-mail to koopmanch@ timesmedia.co.za with contact details and an answer to the question: "How long is the 5-in-1 pass valid?" before 2pm today.
The two lucky winners will be contacted telephonically. - Chanice Koopman and Lwazi Ndima
