'No pay for one is no pay for all'

SOME non-striking workers in the metal and engineering sector will not receive pay, despite not being involved with the current industrial action.

National Association of Automotive Component and Allied Manufacturers (Naacam) vice-president Ken Manners, who is also the managing director of SP Metal Forgings, said due to not having enough of a workforce for production, all workers had to be shut out of his company.

SP Metal Forgings is an automotive component manufacturer with businesses in Uitenhage and Boksburg.

Since the company works on a no-work, no-pay policy, non-striking employees, along with their striking National Union of Metalworkers of SA (Numsa) colleagues, will not be paid. - Mkhululi Ndamase and Cindy Preller
