Man arrested in Greenbushes perlemoen bust

FOLLOWING a string of similar arrests, another suspected perlemoen poacher has been apprehended during a raid on a smallholding in Greenbushes.
It was the 10th arrest linked to Port Elizabeth perlemoen syndicates in two weeks. A total of R180000 worth of perlemoen has been confiscated during the raids.
Police say R25000 worth of perlemoen and two deep freezes were confiscated during the latest raid on a smallholding in Blommelaan on Tuesday.
Police spokesman Warrant Officer Alwin Labans said the Flying Squad received information about the perlemoen being stored at the house and carried out the raid. - Gareth Wilson
